My Story

I began my creative journey at the age of 16 when I purchased my first camera. Since then, I’ve always kept a camera in hand, constantly exploring and honing my craft. Over the years, I trained in traditional darkroom techniques, becoming a Master Printmaker of Black & White images and a Fine Art Photographer. Working in the darkroom taught me to see images with an artist’s eye—mastering the art of painting with light through burning and dodging to control the narrative of each photograph.

During this time, I was also introduced to hand tinting images using various mediums, which added a unique, personal touch to my work. I developed my own methods to age images, giving them a vintage, timeless feel. My passion for hand embellishing was ignited early on, and I quickly became hooked.

As my skills grew, I began photographing intimate events such as small weddings. I would apply a variety of embellishments to these images, transforming them into personalized keepsakes. I reserved my hand embellishments primarily for my own fine art photography, offering these special, embellished images as gratitude gifts to clients—small tokens of appreciation that carried my personal touch and dedication to creating meaningful, one-of-a-kind pieces.

Over time, I started receiving inquiries from clients’ friends, asking if I could embellish photographs they sent me, even if I hadn’t photographed the original image. The fact that clients and their friends began seeking my embellishment services for images I didn’t originally shoot speaks to the exceptional quality and uniqueness of my work, as well as the trust and admiration I have built in my clients. This interest has inspired me to expand my offerings, blending my technical expertise and artistic vision to create truly unique, hand-embellished images for a wider audience.

The birth of Glimmer Studio was driven by pure necessity, emerging as a response to the growing demand for my hand-embellished images and personalized artistic services.  Embracing hand embellishing as a core part of my artistic expression, especially as a special gift to loved ones. I transformed my passion and expertise into a dedicated studio space  that embodies my artistic vision.  My journey beautifully combines technical mastery with artistic innovation, making my work truly stand out.
